Our Beliefs

The Bible

The Bible is inspired by God and is the only infallible, inerrant, authoritative Word of God.

Peter 1:23-25; Hebrews 4:12; John 20:31

God

There is one God eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

Luke 1:35; 1 John 5:7; 2 Corinthians 13:14

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is God; came in the flesh through the virgin birth; lived a sinless life; performed miracles; died for the sins of the world; ascended to heaven and intercedes for us with the Father; he will return in power and glory to judge all creation and to establish an eternal kingdom.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit indwells the Christian and is actively ministering in the world today enabling and empowering the living of a life pleasing to God; He gives gifts to every believer for the build-up of the body of Christ. All people will be resurrected, the believers to everlasting life in Heaven and eternal rewards; the unbelievers to everlasting death in Hell and eternal punishment.

Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 6:19; 1 Corinthians 12:1-14; Galatians 5:22-23; Ephesians 5:18; Romans 12:6-8; 1 Peter 4:1-10

Heaven

All people will be resurrected, the believers to everlasting life in Heaven and eternal rewards; the unbelievers to everlasting death in Hell and eternal punishment.

John 5:24-29; 1 Corinthians 15:20-28; Revelation 20:11-15

Sin

Man and woman were created in the image of God, were tempted by Satan, rebelled and sinned and experience spiritual and physical death. As a result, all people are born with a sinful nature and apart from Jesus Christ are eternally lost.

Genesis 2:17; Romans 5:12-19; Ephesians 2:1-3; Ephesians 4:18-19; Ephesians 6:10-19; Mark 7:20-23; Revelation 12:9; 1 Peter 5:8

Mankind

God created mankind in His image, forming each person in the womb from conception until the point of death when they breathe their last; and assigning gender to His people, male (man) and female (woman), as He created them sexually and biologically different, but with equal personal dignity and value.

Psalm 139:13-16; Isaiah 44:2; Isaiah 49:5; Jeremiah 1:4-5; Genesis 25:8; Luke 23:46; Genesis 1:26-28

Marriage

God ordained marriage as a lifelong union between one man and one woman. Those who accept and live within God’s design for sex, biological gender, and marriage experience His good design. Decisions to change, alter, or modify God’s will in marriage, sex, or gender are part of man’s brokenness.

Genesis 2:18; Matthew 19:4-9; Ephesians 5:31-33; Psalm 1:1-3; Psalm 128:1-4; Romans 1:21-22; James 1:13-15

Salvation

A person becomes a Christian by personally receiving Jesus Christ as an act of faith (born again), a willful commitment to trust and follow Him. All who believe are assured that Christ comes into their life; their sins are forgiven; they become children of God; they begin a new life with Christ; and they are assured eternity in heaven. Salvation is a gift from God.

Unity in Christ

There is a spiritual unity of believers in Jesus Christ; many churches but one Lord. The church is made up of all who put their faith in Jesus Christ and is to give praise to God, build up believers and proclaim the gospel.

Ephesians 4:4; Matthew 16:16-18; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:42-47; 1 Peter 2:9-10; Revelation 1:4-8
